NEW YORK- November 17, 2003 — Kent M. Swig, owner and co-chairman of Brown Harris Stevens and principal of Swig Burris Equities, was honored at the annual luncheon of State of Israel Bonds’ Real Estate and Construction Division at The Pierre. The luncheon raised over $78.5 million in bond sales, the most successful single-honoree event in Israel Bonds history.
A packed ballroom of more than 710 real estate leaders saw Swig, the Division’s vice chairman and former campaign chairman, receive the Israel Peace Medal from his father-in-law Henry Macklowe of Macklowe Properties and MTA Chairman Peter S. Kalikow of H.J. Kalikow & Co.
Luncheon speakers included Israel Bonds President Joshua Matza, Burton P. Resnick of Jack Resnick & Sons, Daniel R. Tishman of Tishman Construction Corp., James B. Emden of USI Real Estate Advisors, Jerry L. Cohen of Tishman Spayer Properties, Howard Hirsch of Forest Electric Corp., campaign chairman Jonathan Mechanic of Fried , Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson’s Real Estate Department and Middle East scholar Haim Shaked.
